Sri Lanka historically renowned under names such as TAPROBANE, SERENDIB and Specially CEYLON was famous for it’s high quality spices throughout history. In old 14th century trade route maps of the world have proved that all most all trade routes passed through Sri Lanka for it’s SPICES and IVORY found in the tropical Island. Tropical Sri Lanka with it’s diverse micro climates and soil types has many spices grown in the Island which is also known as SPICE ISLAND. The most sought spice among others is the Cinnamon, PURE CEYLON CINNAMON or TRUE CINNAMON.

Ceylon Cinnamon

The Ceylon Cinnamon belongs to the family Lauraceae and it contains about 250 species and sub species. ‘Ceylon Cinnamon’ (Cinamomum Zeylanicum Blume) and Cassia are the more important ones that are traded in the international market.

Ceylon Essential Oils

Cinnamon oil is quite rare with a delicate aroma and a sweet, pungent taste. Cinnamon bark oil has no less than 90 identified compounds and over 50 minute unidentified compounds. Our Cinnamon bark oil contains more than 60% Cinnamaldehyde.

Ceylon Nutmeg

It has been reported that the nutmeg plants have been introduced into Sri Lanka in the beginning of the 19th century. Nutmeg fruits are fleshy drupes, broadly pyrifoam drooping with a circumferential longitudinal ridge

Ceylon Mace

Nutmeg tree yield two spices, netmeg which is the kernal of the seeds and MACE which is the net like crimson colored leathery out growth (aril) covering the shell of the seed. Nutmeg and mace are two separate spices derived from one tree is the nutmeg tree.

Ceylon Papper

Pepper is largely produced as black pepper which is the dried whole fruit. White pepper is produced by removing outer pericarp and pepper is also available in crushed and ground forms.

Ceylon Garcinia Rings

Garcinia gummi-gutta is a tropicalspecies of Garcinia. Common names include garcinia cambogia (a former scientific name), as well as brindleberry, Malabar tamarind, and kudam puli (pot tamarind).

Ceylon Clove

Clove is largely used as dried whole buds. Ground clove is used for curry mixtures and clove oil is used for flavoring foods and in pharmaceutical perfumery industry. Clove oil either can be colourless or yellow.
